Fuel and exhaust systems – K-Jetronic fuel injection – 16 valve engines
K-Jetronic fuel injection system will be installed in the 1.8 liter 16V engine parts are the same as (see photos). All of the procedures is the same as above in this chapter, with the exception of part (B) below.
2. the idling adjustment
1. run the engine to normal operating temperature and check that all electrical components are switched off. Please note that the electric cooling fan is not running under control during the procedure.
2. remove the crankcase ventilation hose (see picture).
3. attach the tachometer to the engine and exhaust gas analyser.
4. If the injector tubes have been removed and refitted just before the changes, the engine 3000 RPM several times then let it idle for at least two minutes.
5. Verify that when the power is turned on, idling stability control valve is part of the buzz. If not, please check your system with reference to the section.
6. disconnect the wiring plug idle stabilisation system. This is located near the ignition coil (see picture).
7. let the engine idle and check that the idle speed is 1000 ± 50 rpm. If necessary, remove the CAP and unscrew the adjustment of the idling speed to be used (see picture).
