MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Manual transmission consists of a switch housing, gearbox and rear extension. Figure 1 (next page) shows the case and the rear extension. Figure 2 (page 155) shows the transfer mechanism.

Removal/installation
1. disconnect the battery ground wire

8. remove the exhaust manifold (Chapter 5).
9. disconnect the drive shaft of the differential, push it to the Tearward out of the transmission.
Note: the supply of oil will run out, if Sent back, not dried out.
10. place the jack under the transmission, and a block of wood to support it,

Before testing in a separate part, or the system, it is highly recommended that you perform all of the procedures listed in article F-BASIC testing. Because many computer and monitored components change the voltage and the resistance of the valves if they malfunction, it is also recommended to the connector pin out of the diagnosis is made.

motor end) until cylinder No. 1 is TDC compression stroke. Align cam shaft timing mark
chain wheel mark on the cylinder. See Figure 5.
3. loosen the timing belt tensioner adjustment bolt and move the tensioner toward the water pump. Tighten the bolt
secure the clamp. Remove the timing belt and tensioner, front. Do not rotate the crankshaft when the timing belt is
been removed.
4. remove the camshaft sprocket (if necessary). Remove the oil pump sprocket access plug on the cylinder block.

If incorporated into a U.S.-spec CX-9, some of those features could keep Mazda competitive with crossovers like the Chevrolet Traverse and Honda Pilot. The 2011 calendar year was the CX-9's best year, with 34,421 units sold. Through the first eight months of 2012, 15,339 CX-9s have been sold.

Earlier this year, rumors suggested that an all-new CX-9 could debut by late 2013. It's unclear if that's still the case, but considering that the CX-9 was our 2008 sport/utility of the year, the crossover could use some serious updates.
