1994 Mitsubishi Expo LRV engine service

The Removal Of
1. remove the radiator cap on, cooling fan and pulley. Remove all the drive belts and the crankshaft pulleys. Delete
the upper timing belt covers and gaskets. Reminds me of the screw length and location.
Caution: do not Rotate counterclockwise (as seen from the timing of the crankshaft
the belt from the motor). If the timing belt is to be reused, mark the direction of the
the rotation before removal.
2. remove the crankshaft sprocket bolt and washer. Rotate clockwise (as seen from the timing belt crank shaft
motor end) until cylinder No. 1 is TDC compression stroke. Align cam shaft timing mark
chain wheel mark on the cylinder. See Figure 5.
3. loosen the timing belt tensioner adjustment bolt and move the tensioner toward the water pump. Tighten the bolt
secure the clamp. Remove the timing belt and tensioner, front. Do not rotate the crankshaft when the timing belt is
been removed.
4. remove the camshaft sprocket (if necessary). Remove the oil pump sprocket access plug on the cylinder block.
See Figure 4. Adds. 31 (8.0 mm) diameter screw to prevent the left from the silent shaft.
5. remove the oil pump sprocket nut and remove the sprocket. Remove the front of the crankshaft sprocket and the flange. Note
the direction and order of installation to use it again.
6. disconnect the rear timing belt tensioner. Remove rear timing belt. Delete quite silent shaft sprocket
and the spacer (if necessary). Remove the rear of the crankshaft sprocket key.
